Who are you then?

I've been teaching in China for a total of three years (over the last five). During those three years I've worked in very different cities at very different schools and I've spoken to many people doing the same thing, all of whom have their own stories and viewpoints. I've also kept a close eye on China and teaching in China since I first came here in 1998, and while I don't claim to be an expert, I think it's fair to say I've got a good idea of what teaching here involves, and how it is changing.

Why'd you bother?

At the moment I'm happy if it helps a few people out. Running the website is cheap and easy, and writing the material didn't take very long - I've done very little research purely for this site, it's mostly stuff I already knew put up on screen.

From a more technical standpoint, I'd been planning to put together a site which would focus entirely on content and use only CSS for design and layout, to produce a clear, quick-loading site. However, if you want a site focussing entirely on content, you need some content - and this is one of the areas in which I know enough to write up a decent amount of material.
